Message from the Principal

Welcome to St. Francis School!

On behalf of our entire staff, I welcome new and returning students and their families to St. Francis School, home of the flames!

St. Francis School is an accepting, safe and encouraging community that nurtures individual uniqueness. We, the staff and parents, in partnership with Our Lady of Hope, other local parishes and our faith community, strive to further develop the spirituality and Catholic faith of our students. We also commit to assisting our students in developing their academic, social, emotional and physical abilities.

Respect and responsibility are modelled and encouraged. We take pride in teaching and living the monthly virtues. For more information on this, check out our website.

Over the last few years, St. Francis has gone through some extensive renovations making it very modern and comfortable. Technology is at the forefront as we teach 21st Century skills. On the main floor, we are pleased to house the West End Best Start Hub and the Jubilee Day Care Infant/Preschool/Toddler Program. Our staff room has been relocated to the second floor. Most recently, the creation of “All are welcome in this ‘one full room’” has enhanced our commitment to aboriginal education. We continue to make changes and grow to meet the needs of the school and school community by offering a seamless approach to learning for children, from infants to Grade 6. Also a benefit to our school community is the programming at St. Francis: We offer French Immersion as well as English.

We invite all parents and guardians and extended family members to join us in fulfilling our mission: “Encouraging life long learning, individuality and respect, through God’s love”.

Please stay in touch – I have an open-door policy and welcome your ideas and opinions. Don’t forget to have our school webpage saved as one of your ‘favourites’, so you do not miss anything that is happening at the school!

Yours in Catholic education,

Sandra St. Denis,
