A huge congratulations goes out to St Francis Catholic Elementary students for raising $7069.35 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation! To celebrate their success, for every $20 collected, the students got to throw a water balloon at Mrs. St-Denis and Ms. Timpano! The teachers proved to be excellent sports, and the students loved being able to give back to our community!
Students share Book of Prayers for Catholic Education Week
Students from Mme Ranich’s grade 3/4 French Immersion class from St. Francis School had the opportunity to share their Book of Prayers that they wrote and published with Mrs. Rossella Bagnato, Superintendent of School Effectiveness, and Mrs. St. Denis, Principal. Bravo les amis!
St. Francis students aim to increase their fruit and veggie intake at school
St Francis Catholic Elementary School is adding some green to their diet by serving broccoli and dip in promotion of the Northern Fruit and Vegetable Program.
This program is offered through a partnership between the Ministry of Health and Long term care, the Ontario Fruit snd Vegetable Grower’s Association and the Sudbury and District Health Unit. It is designed to increase awareness and consumption of fruits and vegetables among elementary school students in Northern Ontario. The students have had carrots, cucumber, apples a variety of other fruits and vegetables.
